A Guide to Addition Amendments

An addition amendment is a legal alteration made to a pending motion, bill, or piece of legislation. The most prominent form of addition amendment is the United States Bill of Rights.

The rights and privileges outlined in the United States Constitution were enforced, yet included a prominent stipulation which enabled lawmakers or politicians to alter the laws to better fit the changes in society. As a result, addition amendments are added clauses or alterations made to a legal framework such as the United States Constitution.

Addition Amendments are incorporated into a legislative framework to adjust the pre-existing law or right to better fit modern society. The process that goes into fortifying an addition amendment requires a majority vote through various political entities or organizational boards.

Although the previous examples defined addition amendments as they pertained to the United States Constitution, any law or policy that is instituted in a number of fields can be altered through the inclusion of an addition amendment.
